Logo

TasterPlace is a new retail company specializing in tasting products for the gourmet food and beverage industry. The logo development started with looking to understand the concept of the company name: A place where one goes to find tasting-related products and services.

After various logo proposal options, we decided on this logo. The word "taster" is highlighted in color as it is the most important, and place, in dark grey. The frame of the image logo recalls a plaza/piazza or "place" in english and the dot stands for where the taster is. The color of the dot corresponds with the color of taster. There is an artistic flourish stroke around the dot to make it unique and memorable. The logo is simple and elegant and can be used in a variety of colors according to specific products (see product examples below).

Product: Aroma Kits

The aroma kits include an informative booklet on each product and a collection of 12 mini-bottles of aromas (for smelling purposes only) typically encountered in each specific product when smelling and tasting it. The aromas are intended to help the user train his sense of smell which is essential in tastings.

The client had in mind a sleek and elegant black box for the aroma kits. The box design plays with negative space (see image of woman opening box above) which I feel recalls the visual identity of the logo. I changed the colors of the logo frame and dot on the label to recall each product and included the grey of the company logo in the writing to tie it in with the company's visual identity color palette.
